WOW! OK, so I feel a little bit like preaching today. I read Tigerlily's latest journal entry and it really got me going. So I wrote her a LONG reply and figured it would be a good journal entry of my own (with some editing, of course)....

Love is not only our true state of being, it is our soul. We are spiritual beings having a human experience, not the other way around. Anything that releases love and sends it out into the universe brings us closer to that state of being. I believe that what makes us live, the life-force energy, is love. It is also what we refer to as God. I hate attempts by many established religions to deify God. A little piece of God (love) is inside of every living thing in the Universe. It's what makes us tick, so to speak.

The only thing that Science has proven is that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it simply exists in one form or another, and this is what all of modern science is based upon. We also know that every element that combines to form our physical bodies can be found in a handful of mud. When we die, our physical form decomposes and becomes a part of the Earth again(mud), but our spiritual self, our soul, is released from bondage, only to become one with the Universal life-force energy again (it changes forms), and takes with it all of the lessons learned in this physical plane, in order to elevate the consciousness of God. When a new life is created a "little piece" of that energy is placed back inside of the physical plane once again. That completes the cycle of Love.

WOW! I'm sorry, I just got to preachin' didn't I? Well, I'm sure you get the point. And I'm not just throwing this out there, it comes from my many years of studying The Bible, The Koran, The Torah, Bahgadvahd-Gita (the writings of Krishna), Buddhism, and the sciences. I'm a Scorpio, I have to "Figure things out" no matter what length's I have to go to (incuding reading The Bible more than 20 times, yet I'm not a Christian zealot or anything, I used it as a kind of textbook). When I was going through all of this, tattoos and piercings were my way of "Transcending the physical being,"(and keeping away the people I didn't want around me anyway).

Bottom line of all religion/spirituality is this: "Why are we here?" My answer - To live, love, learn and continue the cycle. Am I content with the answers I've found? I think so. However, I'm nowhere near an "enlightened" individual. I'm human and have the same hang-ups, crutches, and shortcomings as everyone else. I'm just learning how to accept them as part of the "Human Condition," and trying to live in the moment. As a part of all of this I am a perpetual student of life and try to learn new things every day, and experience EVERYTHING that life has to offer. Oops, I'm getting started again. I'll stop now.

Love, peace and bok grease!

Your dog looks cute in glasses. He reminds me of the days when my ex would put sunglasses on his boxer dog's ass for giggles. That cropped tail looked just like a big, ugly honker!
