So Wednesday was the day that everyone wanted to kill themselves. Lucky me I got to run around all day and night working my ass of to try and save them, in vain as usual.

Well, I actually saved the 16 year-old bi-polar HS football star who was trying to slash his wrists (the wrong way) with pieces of broken glass. A police officer, my partner and I took a narrow window of opportunity to take him down and restrain him while preventing him from doing further damage to himself or us.

The 50-something Jane Doe Jumper was the most interesting of the day. She apparently threw herself out of a 16th-floor window. That takes some serious balls! She had a broken neck, broken arm, shattered pelvis, flail-chest, hemothorax, pneumothorax, and God knows what else was wrong with her.
She was still warm though and the Friefighters on-scene were freaking out, so we worked her until we got to the hospital where they pronounced her. Worst part was she was visiting her son from out-of town and jumped form his living room window while he was at work. Sucks-to-be-him.

Then there was the heroin addict who left a note saying he had fucked everyone's life up so now he was going to fuck his up. He was down for a while (he was cold) but he had electrical activity in his heart so again we had to work him all the way to the Hospital.

But on a positive note I brought back another junkie so he can live to OD another day (he was a "regular" that I've saved twice before).

Then there was the tiny little 15 year old girl with Hydrocephalus (water on the brain) who was having her first seizure that I was able to wake-up and I even had her talking and smiling by the time we got to Children's hospital.

So I guess overall it was a shitty day with redeeming moments. Lots of hard work though. I was so drained physically and emotionally that I slept all day yesterday. When I waoke up I drank myself into a stupor, but I feel pretty good today. We'll see what tomorrow holds in-store for me.

whatever
