Hey, I've been busy!

Some serious lack of posting going on here...

-Had jury duty last week. Didn't get on a case. Sat around and read. And listened to music and watched tv shows on my Zune.

-This past Monday night I saw Amy Ray at the Hi-Tone. Fantastic show. She had Kaia Wilson (The Butchies, Team Dresch) in her band. Kaia looks like David Spade with boobs and no facial hair. She was so cute and rocked and rolled. On a strange note, there were a lot of lesbians in the crowd. Go figure, huh? I played a mental game of which lesbian I could actually make time with, so to speak. "Not her, not her, no, that one wouldn't think twice about me, no...ok, that one would work with me..." Kaia fell into the latter category.

-Wednesday night I saw Carlene Carter, right back there at the old Hi-Tone. After the show, I hung out for hours drinking with her, her band (who were doing more than drinking,) her husband, her British manager and the great staff at the Hi-Tone. Local singer and opening act Holly Cole was even hanging out and being all drunk. (Holly Cole is my Nemesis!)

A little earlier, right after the show ended, I was standing with Carlene, her husband, and a band member when a fan walked over. He looked liked some old dude that would normally hang out at Mugg's in Frayser. Nerd glasses, balding to the point of being bald, yelled out the phrase "Goodness, yeah!" a lot during the show. Had a stalker quality about him. He launches into some big story about all of the Carter/Cash family shit he's bought over the years (Carlene is June Carter's daughter and Johnny Cash's step-daughter.) "I got this one dinner plate of June's that had a floral pattern that blah, blah, blah." Take it up with E-Bay, my man. After what seemed like an hour of him trying to impress Carlene with his estate sale prowess and scant ties to her family, I turned to Carlene and said, "Hey, I once bought a six-pack of beer and paid CASH! How about that!!" That got some laughs.

-Also this week...I early voted! It took about an hour to get through the line, so once again, my Zune came in handy. Mostly because there was an old guy two people ahead of me who spent the whole hour lecturing people on the way the world works. Yes, he was Republican. I felt sorry for the nice young lady ahead of me, cause she got quite the talking to. I would only hear him in-between my songs. One song would fade out and I would hear, "Socialism has never worked in any country!!" A few minutes later another song would end and I would hear, "Those foreigners fear John McCain!!" He had a point there, cause I fear John McCain. And I live in the US.

And just like at the Amy Ray show, I had another mental game to occupy my time. This game had two parts. First, I would look at the other people in line and try to guess who they were voting for. Second, I would mentally undress the cute women in line. Women of all ages. Hey, I'm just trying to spread the wealth!

-And, again, also this week...I've been a little sick, what with the change of seasons and allergies and shit.

So there you have it. If I can stop curling up under the covers and eating chicken noodle soup (or going out to shows and drinking my weight in whiskey) I might post more.

It looks like you have been having fun. It is good to see you back on SG. I hope you get better soon. I have been on holiday to Sydney, Australia and got my self a new tattoo. Undressing women while in line is a fun thing to do especially to take your mind off listening to idiots biggrin
