so, i was shopping for nipple jewelry the other day and came across a website that sells "organic" body jewelry - bone, stone, bamboo, wood, ivory, etc.
mostly it was septum stuff and ear plugs.
here's the thing a/b my ears - i got them pierced when i was 11 and they were CONSTANTLY infected.
i cleaned them twice a day, took my earrings out at night, tried surgical steel, stainless steel, sterling silver, 14, 18 and 24 carat gold - they still got infected. so, by the time i was 14 i stopped wearing earrings all together and pretty much figured i never would again.
but since then i've had my nose, tongue, libret and nipples pierced and have never had any problems.
now, a good friend of mine is stretching her ears and recently got a pair of jade plugs and they are so beautiful that i can't stop thinking a/b them, and then i saw all the pretty stuff they had on this website, and it got me thinking - i want that!
but i wonder if it's worth trying to put stuff in my ears again.
any one out there have a similar experience?
is it very painful?
does it take a long time - i'm not looking to stretch them too big, just big enough to wear the smallest plugs.
so, it sounds like skyy isn't going to make it out here for "global dance fest" (which used to be rave on the rocks)/
i'm bummed b/c we had kind of made it a tradition, and it's going to be over my birthday weekend . . .
but it was on very short notice and her life is very hectic right now, and she'll be out here in august - hopefullly for 10 days or so
and it will be easier for me to get time off then too and we've been spending a ton of money lately.
all in all, it's probably for the best.
but i miss her so much.
i wish august was next week.
or i wish i was unemployed but independently wealthy and could just do whatever i wanted whenever i wanted.
i guess we all wish that though, right?

I'd probably donate just enough of my riches to feel non-corrupt, and then go and do corrupt things with the rest.
