it seems like most of my updates latly have been about horrific medical emergencies ive experianced in the last month, so here goes another...
in my last entries i was complaining about a back ache. thought it was just cause im getting old. well, turns out i had a little viral meningitis. probably from my tonsillectomy complications. after 3 days of head/neck/back pain, i went to the dr.s. not much they can do for it ( mind you, it was NOT the deadly bacterial kind) so i was told to rest and given pain meds. 3 days more, things got worse. back to the dr.s, sent to the ER. got a my first CT scan and spinal taps. ( yes plural ) actually, not quite as bad as you'd think. just very scary, uncomfortable,and it took a really long time. once again, all clear, so i got sent home with STRONGER pain meds.
2 more days, i couldn't move. existance was tourture. felt like my brian was growing and about to burst out of my head. ringing in my right ear. i got morphine shots and oxycotin for 3 more days. didn't help. went to a neurologist. found out from my ER records that the resident in the ER who did my spinal tap mised and i got puncuterd 4 FUCKING TIMES!! it never healed and i had been leaking spinal fluid internaly ever since. so, as the neuro explained it, i was "brain on bone". nice.
i spent 3 more days in the hospital under STRICT bed rest. lying down flat. no pillow. couldn't get up for ANYTHING. could not even lift my head from the bed. luckly i was given loads of valum to keep me "sane".
quite an experiance.
but it worked. im heald. no more headache. no more meds. just some major withdrawls.
what next... im thinking a vacation maybe?
