I actually saw this movie for the first time only a few years back. It was one of those movies I had always meant to see, but never quite got the chance. It's gotta be the creepiest and coolest movie ever. There's also an alternative soundtrack out there with Type O Negative. It fits in perfectly with the movie.

Nah, Lady in the Water isn't a werewolf film. The only thing it has in common with werewolves is that they both involve creatures of the supernatural. There is a wolfish creature in the movie, but a werewolf it isn't. Don't let that dissuade you though, because it is splendid.

THAT SHIRT: If it had Dracula on there and said Squad underneath the monsters I would pick it up without a second thought. Although, it does look a little femine cut. Fuck it, I'd wear it anyway! surreal

So yesterday I went to Branson with Miranda. It was awesome, only because Branson is all pink flamingos and tropical theme motels. I love that. There was a lot of photography potentials. Miranda didn't bring her digital camera...too bad. First we hit the Salvation Army (DUD)!!! and then this over priced "thrift" store where she tried to haggle for this great sweater but the guy...

Ah yes, William Castle was great. I loved the gimmick he did for his film "The Tingler," where he set up buzzers underneath the seats in theaters to scare people. And warned his audience that the fright from his movies might cause "sudden death."Oh yeah, "House on Haunted Hill" is another great one. That's a definite halloween tradition around these parts. I think "House of Wax" was probably my favorite movie when I was like 6 or 7, I always thought he looked really cool dressed up in that cape thing of his.

I admit that I haven't seen that FInal Destination movie, but if you liked it it must have some merit. wink
That rotten cotten site looks crazy. I see that alien from "This Island Earth" (I think) and John Wayne Gacy in that picture up there. Hmmm, freaky combo. biggrin

Hey! I'm back and better than ever. So I've been living it up this summer. I've mostly been doing a lot of thrift store shopping and hanging out at Cheap Thrills in Tulsa. Fun stuff. kiss I also discovered the wonderful world of Rankin-Bass. I love Mad Monster Party. I also have been obsessed with Blythe dolls lately. I also bought an original Monster Mash LP,...

Great to here from you again. I have not seen that video you were talking about, I'll have to check it out. I'm always interested in seeing kids who belong in an asylum. Preferably from afar. biggrin
Thrift shopping is good times, a lot treasures out there. Like this guy said one time: "one man's bile is another man's meal." Well, you get what I mean. Didn't Boris Karloff or someone like that sing The Monster Mash? Or maybe I'm thinking of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. I was watching The Abominable Dr. Phibes a few nights back, I'm sure you've seen it. It's right up your alley (hopefully you take that as a compliment, cause that's how I meant it wink )

(I don't know about you, but I think the exoskeleton look is in)

There was this part where the Good Doc (aka Vincent Price) set up this acid shower thing and accidently used it on his own wife/girl. So campy and goulish and fun. The Pit and The Pendulum is another one of his I haven't seen for a while but love. Just enough blackness and genuine evil to it to keep interest.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Seriously, Vincent Price is god. Oops, sorry for rambling on a bit. wink

ckdexterhaven:
oh shoot, how could I forget my favorite Vincent Price movie...

Heh, can just hear that gasp from the 50's movie audience when they first see that face of his. ok, enough bugging you. tongue

Well my subscription is running out and I don't know if I'm going to renew it. I have a Xanga (Divinetrash)--so I may just stick with that. It's too time consuming to keep up with both. BUT that doesn't mean I won't be back. Well Happy 4th everyone! Cyasmile kiss
ckdexterhaven:
Happy 4th to you too, Miss Divine. Obviously I would love for you to stick around, you're one of the coolest girls on here to talk with. But whatever's cool with you is cool with me. smile
reptilia:
Sorry to hear about this. Hope you have fun if you decide to quit (although it's been a while now). frown

However did your friend's pursuit into the SG modeling arena turn out, eh?

So yesterday was pretty good...We bought some movies, Hills Have Eyes Unrated...demented, I love it. American Psycho, also demented and I love it. Cujo, read the book now it's time to watch the movie. Last but not least, Tales From the Crypt Season 3. Good stuff as usual. I think tonight I'll watch Cujo...I hope it's good, I've never actually watched it. Right now though...

Last night or well yesterday early morning, I was awake as usual and scamming the channels to see if I could get lucky and find something. So I ran into The Magdalene Sisters which I had heard something about but not any detail so I watched it. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST--Irish Catholics are fucking crazy--It's a true story...Man oh man. Religion is the quickest way to...

Check out this video using the main theme song from that movie Manos: The Hands of Fate. I've only seen the movie on MST3k, I can only imagine how disturbing it would be to watch it on it's own.
Manos - Love Theme
Here's the dvd at Amazon. MST3K-ManosTheHandsOfFate
Do you have a wishlist on Amazon? If you do you should add it on there, and i'll get it for ya. I'm almost positive you'll love it. smile
reptilia:
Magdalene Sisters... hm, haven't seen it. Will check it out.

You're on Netflix? You should add me: diejws@gmail.com!

Hey. I just got done watching Monster Man...it's the best worst movie ever. It's in association with Lion's Gate and you can tell the demon's house was the house in Devil's Rejects...Let's see now this movie The Hazing is on...all I know is Charles Ray "Chucky" is in it. On occassion Encore plays good stuff. I really want to see Hard Candy and it's playing...

monster man is so awesome, the part with the dead cat, so sick but funny. hard candy i thought was just ok, it started pretty strong, but i thought really went over the top and lost me in the second half, but it's worth seeing just for ellen page's excellent performance. that sucks there's no good shows in your area, i'm going to see my all time favorite guilty pleasure band DOPE tommorow, then ministry and NIN next weekend. you should write about your kick ass taste in movies in your description. do you have aim by any chance?
ckdexterhaven:
"Manos: The Hands of Fate" is basically the most notoriously bad movie ever played on the tv show "Mystery Science Theater 3000." It's really hard to explain, it's just really bad.
Here's a weird music video using footage from the movie. Don't Mess With Manos
But you've got to check it out the MST3K version. Have you ever watched the show?

This is an interesting new layout...apparently I'm captivating. Thanx to whoever wrote this. So this weekend I almost went to see The Spiderlillies a Tulsa Burlesque dance group BUT Miranda and I could not find the place so we were outta luck. On a positive note we drank a lot of Quiktrip coffee and ate again at the Metro Diner. Very cool. We went by...

I love "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." I've seen a couple hundred times, It's still great though.
The motel scenes are classic.
"That's not a pillow"

van_goghs_ear:
the show was pretty damn good. about 25-30 kids packed into a little dumpy bar, it was a mini riot for most of the night. i'd have to say my favorite waters movie is female trouble. but the trifecta of that pink flamingos and desperate living can't be beat.

Hello everyone, let's see...My weekend. Friday Miranda and I went to Tulsa to get some Quiktrip coffee (yes an hour and a half for coffee, let alone gas station coffee)--BUT it's so good I'm totally addicted. We were semi-lost, mostly looking for some action. We did not know about the all-nude Escapades but next time I'm sure we'll indulge in some creepy strip club fun...which...

just got home from seeing the omen. i thought it was pretty good. very fucking creepy and had the best jump scares i've seen lately. i must have jumped out of my seat 3 or 4 times. for sure one of the better remakes and definetly worth seeing. it does kind of lose steam in the final third but picks up at the end.
ckdexterhaven:

Leave It In My Beaver

best one ever

Yeah so let's see...weekend...did the usual....went to Hugos, the mall...Miranda found this great dress at Forever 21...it's really rockabilly/western...cool. Let's see I went to a white trash wedding. My ex-best friend, Amanda got married. I really kind of despise her...she told everyone I was a lesbian...and started some freaky rumors so I left the school district (it all worked out in the end)--but she felt...

ckdexterhaven:

So Miranda thought of assembling a honeymoon care package complete with condoms, a feather boa, candles, a pregnancy kit, a thong, and aspirin...all from a skanky dollar store. We didn't stay for gift opening.

I like Miranda. She's a funny chick.
