We almost lost Detroit
My Mayday/Beltane hit hard.
Coming home from breakfast at Cloud Nine, a little diner over the bridge, just forty feet out of the parking lot, I see a car going way too fast heading the way I'm going. I stop, since he's clearly not, but then, just when I freeze in the middle of the intersection, he changes his mindsuch as it wasand decides to turn the other way.
He winds up heading straight at me. T-boned the 94 Honda Civic, and turned it into a tin can, starting about six inches behind my head. I got a fat lip out of it, a bunch of road burn (the impact threw me out of the car), and wasted the day in a body board at a trauma center. I'm fine. I'm fine. They told me they had to take me since I was thrown from the car, even though I was walking around, looking in the grass for my iPhone.
My last words were almost: DUDE!
The guy was a diabetic, in sugar shock, blacked out and incoherent, essentially. Hope the rest of the month improves.

same here--i am qualified to work for a UN health organization. i just have to get off my tush and work on making that happen.
i expect my girls to say Hell No We Wont Go, but lose that argument in the end
