heart breaks to hear me
still the body leaps
at first chance to witness
the downfall of everything
we've come to love and hate
about eachother and all the
words to say
that we've lost
in good time

forgive my assumptions
i'll be just a bit
i've gathered we started
shooting from the hip
yes strictly and only
in the plainest sight
as it all got murky
our intentions might
have warped some
it took some time

rapping on your borders now
i'm on the outside
placed in general quarters
i sleep alone

for all that's done
for every word
spoken out of time
for every thought
that was meant to aim
and bring you pain

so heart break to hear me
my body now is dead
the first chance to witness
the downfall has come and gone and
i find myself clenching still
wondering what has happened
and why i was thrilled
