I live life at an unhurried pace. Which is a diplomatic way of saying that I have no life.
What did you expect? I keep an online diary, after all.
But life from Friday on has been whiz-bang-nonstop, coffee in the morning, beer in the afternoon, whiskey at night. Until now. I am not going out tonight. Ive weighted myself down, made sure that I...

looks like a pretty great show! (the world could REALLY use hearing that soft boys song considering the world situation, "loose" to "mod lang" is pretty bold, i love laura cantrell and that's rad of you to resurrect both death of samantha and pylon in one show.)
new orleans should be proud -- i hope they understand the value of truly groovy freeform programming. ever listen to wfmu on the web? (wfmu.org) or wrek in atlanta?

I somehow thought that when I moved here that frost heaves and broken pavement joins would be a thing of the past. Warm weather would mean smooth driving.
I am a damn fool.
New Orleans is second only to Boston for sheer lack of road quality. There are many factors for this, including the citys reluctance to properly maintain any bit of public transportation (unless...

Tonight was a beer night.
I usually do not like indulging at the local bars but the prices are cheap and tonight I was thirsty. As current crush has been oddly absent lately beer seemed like the drug of choice. And as alcohol tends to turn my foot into lead I make sure to drink at bars within walking distance. Of which there are three....

I always tell people that it rains everyday at three in New Orleans and then never believe me. It makes all the donkey shit in the Quarter smell even worse. I used to hate it when I was a kid because I would have to sit inside and watch cowboy movies with my grandpa while it rained.

I'm not too sure how it got started.
There are a bunch of vague drunken memories, parties at the Legion Hall, at the Guapo/Skittles/etc. house, Beavis's apartment, other places... bouncing around the hallways in Walker or Couch... they're scattershot and out of focus, I can barely hear anyone talk, see anyone move in them. When I replay these memories in my head I usually see...

Thursday night and the Sandman was snubbing me again.
Sleep was necessary because I was slated for an installation at the sherriffs office early and I would run hard and run late, ending the night at Twiropa, working a merch table for the local college radio station. Total time spent awake would equal 22 hours. Add in nine hours of work and my standard cardio...

Monday and Tuesday nights your average person stays in and maybe catches some Must See TV. The professionals and executives rest up for another day of paper shuffling and cubicle chitchat and the tourists are all home, recovering from touring. Most service industry workers get at least Monday or Tuesday off. And when the service industry is a major part of your town's economy this...

Endorphins are flooding my brain. I'm dancing, I'm kicking like a Rockette wearing steel-toed boots, I'm shuffling and jabbing like Muhammad Ali. I may or may not sting like a bee, but Goddamn it, right now, I truly am floating.
Just from a five minute conversation with Miss Current Crush.

JT, who hails from Bogal-U-S-A, was in the office today. A rarity. He much prefers to spend his weekends either hunting deer, skinning deer, or manufacturing lightly-spiced, world-class deer sausage. A surprisingly gourmet affair from a redneck who won't touch Miller High Life on account of it being too high class for him.

The Feelies? Good god yes. Through Allmusic ( http://www.allmusic.com/ ) I was able to find a bunch of like bands, including the Embarassment, who I highly recommend. Then again, I also dig Cheap Trick, it's a secret shame so shhhhh please don't tell anyone.
Didn't I didn't I didn't I see you crying, ohhhh oh didn't I didn't I didn't I see you crying!
