never to be free
as unseeing eyes fuse outward and dissolve.

Peeking around the corner I see Kelly, Mimi and Julie standing around the combination Printer/Fax Machine that stands against the back wall of the south wing of the building. Mimi hears the keys on my beltloop jingling and glances in my direction.
