Late night Linear Systems
Right, so now that dinner is over and the dishes are...well, piled on the counter waiting to be loaded into the dishwasher once we get more dish detergent, it's time to get my evening underway.
Or rather, its time to get my DAY underway, since I woke up at 3pm today. My life is rapidly turning into Dark City:
"where'd the day go?? How'd I miss it?!?!"
So what to do? Well, lets see. I've got ACID open and I'm putting a Jesus Lizard riff over a 2step break, and let me tell you, it is pretty god damn wonderful. Also, I'm terrorizing peoples journal entries with my trademark zanyness. Speaking of which, I've noticed that by and large SGers have pretty good senses of humor. But oh man, there are some on here who just can't take a joke. And that's really too bad.
But very soon, when I realize that I'm not going to get a struck by a lightning bolt of inspiration that will allow me to complete this ultra-heavy track I'm working on, I'm going to go back over to my desk where I have all my Digital Signal Processing books. Right now I'm working on proving that a sinusoidal input to a discrete valued system with a real valued impulse response will in fact generate an output in frequency which is an Eigenfunction of the input, with an Eigenvalue equal to the magnitude of the frequency response of the system in question. And this is what I do with my spare time. Actually this is in preparation for the Xilinx conference next week in San Francisco, where I'm going to try and find out what the hell is going on in technology these days so I can try to finally get a motherfucking engineering job after all those painful years in school and a senseless move across the country to the Silicon Valley area.
Will it work?
Probably not.
Actually I've been considering putting all this stuff into an essay to submit to Flux to try to get into SG:NHS, but then I realize that I'm still so filled with rage, angst and bitterness about it that I don't REALLY wish to subject anyone else to my overwhelmingly negative attitude on the subject.
Oh well.
At least this track is really heavy anyway. And it doesn't clip! I'm in the red, but I still top out at -.09dB!!! That's pretty cool considering I have heavy ass distorted bass and 5 drum parts.
afterthought: Why is is that you're the most creative at 4am? Is my neurochemistry really THAT different at this time of the morning from any other time of the day????
