This wacky and reclusive SGer was discovered to be missing from his new California home by his real life girlfriend Itzamna on Tuesday, February 17th.
"It was really strange" said Itzamna in a statement given at 4:17pm "I woke up to a weird burning smell in the room, and right away I knew something was wrong when Core wasn't in bed. God knows that bastard sure likes to sleep! I got scared when I saw a huge hole in the floor though, with bits of burned wood sticking up in the air. When I saw that and the burned sections of carpet I realized that's what that burning smell was. It was scary looking down that hole, it just seemed to go on and on with no bottom".
Said Billenium, one of the few SGers who also know the real identity of the elusive CoreOfSelf: "Man, I told him to be upbeat about moving to California, now I feel kinda bad about that. I guess it was a bad idea."
TastySoup could not be reached for an interview, but said later in a written statement: "Yeah, that dude was really weird, he'd show up out of nowhere and write all this crazy stuff in the comments section for my journal. I swear the guy did drugs or something. Did he really disappear into a hole in his floor?"
MayaMeow offered an indifferent "Meow!"
Another of CoreOfSelf's SG friends, Steppenwolf, offered the following comment "Yeah that dude was weird alright. He just showed up at this coffee shop where I hang out right before he left and started saying all this weird stuff. Eventually we started talking about Sci-Fi books, and that's cool. He seemed alright, just really weird. Had his hair all up high on his head and waved his hands around when he talked. Just plain weird."
Other SGers were not so kind about the disappearance of CoreOfSelf.
Said Flux, highly popular SG model "Really? That annoying bastard disappeared? Good riddance. That psycho would leave all these crazy comments in my journal. Like, every single time I made a journal entry, there he'd be with another insane remark. Sometimes I'd leave a comment in his journal if he asked me a question, and then 3 seconds later he'd put another comment in my journal as a reply or something. Like I was trying to have a conversation with him rather than get rid of him. Good. That's one less aggravation for me to deal with."
Investigators report that they have no new leads in the case, but have a team of specialists working around the clock trying to discover any answers they can to help elucidate this bizarre event. -BJS
