Alright y'all
Here I go.
Today is the big day.
My plane leaves at 4:00pm East Coast time, arrives at San Jose International Airport at 7:27pm West Coast time. The transplant is only hours away. I'm leaving my home of over 2 decades, my family, my friends, and my cats.
And how am I feeling?
Imagine for a second that you're sitting at a table with a half empty glass of water, and an elongated pill shaped something like a Brazil Nut. Its smooth, perfectly white, and goes down easy as you drink your water.
Inside your stomach, acids weaken the white shell enough to release the organism dormant inside. Immediately, it begins to grow. It has appendages that are like spikey tentacles, jagged vines. Its nervous system isn't centralized, but is nonetheless massively complex. The tenrils grow, and spread through your innards, piercing membranes and crossing lumens without effort. As your insides are taken over, the tentacles secrete a hot, caustic fluid that causes your muscles to cramp.
Tentacles grope through your innards and finally find your heart. They wrap around and squeeze as hard as they can.
And there's nothing you can do to stop it.
I wouldn't say Im panicking yet.
But I'm getting close.
Here I go.
