I've been looking for a forum to discuss my hatred for hip-hop, but I can't seem to find one. Why is that? Because I must be the last person on earth who holds this opinion. I'm tired of staying in the closet.
The next person who puts that LOOK on their face and says "I don't listen to rap. *scoff* I listen to hip-hop. There's a difference. *snort*" is getting knifed. Thanks jackoff, that's really a worthwhile distinction. There's a guy talking over the same irritating sample looped over a thin cheesy beat for 3 minutes. GET OVER YOURSELVES!
And with so many things, you can't just be cool about a thing like this. Live and let live? Not if you don't like hip-hop.
"But why don't you like it??" they demand. Because I fucking don't! Now leave me alone!
But as usual, those in the majority somehow feel that those in the minority are somehow deficient. "You just don't get it. That's your problem." No, I do get it. I fucking get it, so you can turn off the Deltron, thanks. Yeah, the Aesop Rock, you can keep it. And don't forget your Atmosphere, your Binary Star, your Jedi Mind Tricks, your Cash Brown, your People Under the Stairs, and your Kanye god damn West. Yes, I hear the clever turns of phrase, and the delighful little rhymes about how bad the goverment is, or how much of a dick everyone in the club is. For what it's worth, I agree. And yes, to give credit, I do see a difference between Blackalicious and Chingy. But you know what? I don't want to hear either of them.
