I really need to stop being so damn lazy and get some of these awesome local bands shows up on the event calandar.

Guess I'll do so after work.

I've been putting off taking the car to the shop all day.

I just hate today.

If your car is a 96 or newer, the check engine light is usually a sign of an emissions problem.

Step 1 - check you gas cap. If it's loose, it will trigger the check engine light.

If it's not your gas cap and your car has 80k or more miles, you probably have a bad oxygen sensor. Repair cost on that was around $120 last time I had it done.

You can buy a cheap ODB II code reader for about $50. It will tell you what triggered the check engine light and let you tell the mechanic what needs to be done.
