You know that time in your life when you used to tell people "when I grow up..."? Do you therefore have to fulfill that goal in order to be grown up? Cuz if you do, that's a crock of shit. Maturity can't be measured by accomplishments; it's all in one's attitude and how you behave in day to day life.
Where's this coming from? I've been witness to some people who are normally outside my social circle these past couple of weeks flail around trying to demonstrate how mature and independent they were while making it blatantly obvious how attention-seeking and childish they were. Also, denying advice or help from people who had knowledge or experience in whatever they were looking into doing. Oh, and then trying to tell the more experienced person what do with their lives. The lady and I are moving along quite smashingly...a bit of a speed-bump this weekend though...won't be participating in any hanky-panky for a while now till things get settled. But hey - it's not like that's the basis of our relationship anyway. Going down to my dad's in Innisfail for the weekend together...she's never been on a farm before in her life, so it'll be an experience, I'm sure.
