Whoa...crazy turn of events. Gotta take off to Red Deer at 0600 in order to take my training for this year's safety ticket requirements to work in the oilfield. Going to get my PST (petroleum safety ticket), off-highway defensive driving, possibly my 5-tonne loader ticket (if i can actually pass it 
), and register for a confined space entry safety ticket.
The PST ticket is a self-mandated company requirement, the defensive driving course is now a requirement for all employees who will be driving for the company (cuz out of 50 eligible drivers this year, 30 of them crashed vehicles and caused enough damage to require repairs), and the confined space ticket is required cuz I'm always dealing with N2 gas, which since its oxygen-displacing makes any area that its being handled in automatically labelled as a confined space. Plus, when the separator vessel gets cleaned at the end of job, the entry-man must have the ticket as well.
And I've tried working the loader before....i blow goats at it, so I've resigned myself to the fact that I shouldn't even get in the driver seat. But yet somehow my bosses figger I should still get the training
