County job is MINE!! 14.40 an hour to START. Over 8.50. Shit yeeeah, son!
Spent a lovely, albeit windy day in SF yesterday. I wore a dress, which complicated things a bit, but we had a great time. Checked out the MOMA, walked all the fuck over town, shopped, it was lovely.
It pales in comparison to landing a fantastically crappy data-entry job, though. Hooray! I feel a twinge of sadness for my current co-workers, and all the zany customers I'll be missing out on, but hot damn, to be paid a wage I can LIVE off of. (Actually, I live quite comfortably off my current paltry wages, but I can't save money for a damn, and I can't restore my '63 Karmann Ghia. And if I can't restore my Ghia, I certainly can't buy a Baja Bug and trick it out for rally racing! WOE IS ME.)
Health insurance will be nice, paid vacation, sick leave, all the benefits one receives from a government job. And I'll be able to afford some really nice tattoos! I've been telling myself that once I get a good-paying job, I'll go get the flamingo tattoo I've been thinking about forever.
I just have to make it through a background check, and a piss test, I believe. Should be a cake walk.
