MySpace sucks pretty hard, but it's functional. And I've been having a lot of issues with the new SG. Comments don't display, pages don't load, shit like that. It's annoying and I'm trying to start using it again just so I have both MySpace and SG to network with. But honestly, MySpace hits almost all the same people I know on SG plus a ton of folks I know in the for real for real. And it's free. MySpace is designed to keep people in contact easily, so even if it's designed poorly it's better than a poorly designed stie that's set up to bring you porn and news stories.

In theory at least.
