What a day at work... (you can't tell me YOUR job is like this)
My Medic and I get tapped out yesterday for a MVA. We were at the hospital restocking so someone would have to cover the call. I then read the page:
"1 person, 1 vehicle. Driver running down the road naked."
We threw the shit in the rig and started down there hot. We got on the highway where this was happening, traffic was already blocked off so we came down the wrong way. Our supervisor was already there. The guy was, indeed, naked and facedown on the pavement handcuffed. He had been tazed by 3 different cops, several times, maced, and finally tackled. He kept screaming about jesus and being a believer. The cop told him to shut the fuck up. Eventually he started spitting at everyone.
To top it all off, he had a very large laceration on his side that was incredibly deep. He was trauma alerted at a nearby trauma center. What had happened was he was driving his van down the high way and decided to climb out of the driver's side window, while the car was moving, and try to ride on the roof. The van crossed traffic, smashed into the guard rail, and send him flying. He got back to the highway, stripped, and went for a jog....
These are the days i love my job.
