dear journal,
why do i continue to eat all the highly processed food they serve at work? you know that i'm frugal-ish, but is it really worth the weird noises that come from my body on those four days of free lunches and dinners? you know that i know that there is no such thing as a free lunch.

2 thoughts for today:

It's all distraction: social security, gay marriage, abortion, Iraqi elections...What are your self-interests and how do they control your attention? Who's making money off your averted gaze?

And...

Whatever your prided eccentricities may be, they are, indubitably, someone else's migraine.
Mine included, to be sure.

Infact I managed to ignore my phone ringing and telling me that I had missed calls every 5 minutes. For like 10 hours.

kitschy:
Getting kicked out of the library! You ruffian! Feel free to use the NCSU library..they never check (unless you're checking out). However, it also sucks, and never has any of the books you need...so that might be a problem too.

edited because folks with english degrees lose their ability to spell.

I would make a horrible hermit. I used to think otherwise. But this weekend shows I would spend all my time travelling down the mountain in order to talk to a barrista. I'll save barristas the world over from having to deal with that, and not become a hermit. Not even a herman's hermit. That poor child of Mrs. Brown.

This is not a nose-to-the-text kinda thing I'm writing. In contingency (vs. "fact"), it is an affirmation of my uncertainty of what a nose is, nevermind to whom or what it belongs, and it is done with a (non)knowledge of where I am putting that uncertain organ, but with a suspicion that I am always already smelling "myself."

So. That is what the weekend holds...

"We must meet hate with love. We must meet physical force with soul force. There is still a voice crying out through the vista of time, saying: Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you. Then, and only then, can you matriculate into the university of eternal life. That same voice cries out in terms lifted to cosmic...

Yesterday, we had the storm that caused all the chaos in SoCal. and beyond. Holy Tsunami! It can be terrible and all, but when nature aims to impress, it has no competiter.

I wonder if all those donations made it in before the year ended...you know for tax reasons. But I'm not feeling cynical tonight, so I'll stop all that.

What's up SGNC? How was...

HA! We actually got an e-mail from our corporate office. Saying that you can use your donation as a tax write off this year.

Sort of sad that people would use something that changed the oceanic shelf in the Indian Ocean, and changed the face of coast lines down there for a tax write off.

Shameless!

I just discovered another beautiful use for the hot shot water heater. Until now it had made my cups of tea with aplomb, yet humbly did it sit next to the coffee makers - the stars of the kitchen counter. But no more! No more, I tell you!
Today, the hot shot became a hot saki maker!
