Happy Holidays. This year I think it would be best if I skipped giving out presents, or maybe did a cheep DIY alternative. I am just so broke, and my family is so unappreciative that it's not worth it. Last year I spent hours baking cookies for everyone, and I hardly even received a thank you in return. Does any one have any ideas for me?

Last week my boy and I went to see these bands at the Gilman.
I have been going to the Gilman since I was 12! They are a not for profit community event space. I love the fact that they have never changed, and that you can still go out on any weekend and see a killer underground show. By underground I mean that non of the bands that they book are signed to any major record labels. Totally indie. I LOVE IT!

My boy's birthday is also this Sunday. I still need to go out an buy him a present. I was thinking a bag of his favorite brand of coffee, Peet's. Do you have any suggestions on good gifts?
For his birthday I think we will be heading out to SF to go to S.P.A.Z. Brunch. There will be great food, cool people, and live performances! Hope to see some of you there!
After that we are heading back to the Gilman to see....
DECEMBER BASTARDS B-DAY BASH!

The community nonprofit event space, DreamLand that my partner and I are starting is well on it's way to opening in March '09. ART SF has kindly donated a stage, as well as other items.
We are currently planning fundraisers to earn our start up funds. Our goal is $3000 by the end of February.
If you or a friend is interested in playing a show, displaying some art work, volunteering, or contributing an article for our zine, then be sure to send me a message so I can get you involved.
Spooky my little kitten is doing well. He goes in to get his last shots next week.
