Hello friends and lurkers. And a special hello to all of my beautiful Suicide Girls out there kiss.

So, we are in the thick of the holiday season again. We had our first snow in Colorado and winter is officially here. Now it appears that North Korea is attacking South Korea, existing home sales are down, Ireland's civil war is not improving, unemployment is up, and the TSA is touching "my junk"....hmmm I think I get depressed during the holidays. Sorry all.

Friends, I am worried about my country, which I love dearly. I think we are being eroded from within. Greed, hubris, fear, and general stupidity seem to be taking hold. Does anyone remember what America is really all about? What has happened to the Norman Rockwell ideal? Did it ever really exist at all, or have we just been fooling ourselves for the past 200 years? Is the dream of freedom and personal liberty just a big joke? How do we fight human nature and avoid becoming fat, lazy, greedy slobs?

I think we need to wake up! Freedom has a cost. No one is "owed" Freedom. It must be earned. If we are not willing to do what needs to be done to maintain it, we will loose it. And Freedom does not mean the Government gives us stuff! Freedom means we are given the ability to succeed, by the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs. And we are allowed to enjoy the benefits of our labor. And we are not ashamed of being successful, unless our success has been stolen from someone else. What is the point of being free if we are ashamed of it? If success is so shameful, we might as well all be slaves. At least we will be rid of our guilt, right?

OK, enough ranting. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Peace.
