So…HAPPY STAR TREK DAY! Today marked the 59th anniversary of the premiere of the original STAR TREK series, and to celebrate, I would like to share a 5 minute trailer for the 30 minute STAR TREK Fan Film my team and I have been working on. We have been beset by obstacles and setbacks of all kinds - from chronic, life threatening illnesses and personal tragedy to time constraints and numerous technical difficulties. Yet, we persevered, and we finally have a short clip to share with the world. We still have a considerable amount of work to do to finish the rest of the project, but the first scene and the opening credits are done, minus some additional editing that will be done to overcome ongoing technical issues with the animation program. We are aiming to finish and release the completed film in 2 to 3 months.
For those who by chance are unfamiliar with this project, PRIME DIRECTIVE is an animated STAR TREK Fan Film set in the timeline in which the planet Vulcan has been destroyed and the few remaining Vulcans have been scattered to the solar wind. The project focuses on female empowerment and racial diversity inside the world of Star Trek while still providing heroic and villainous roles for the masculine characters. If you have 5 minutes to give it a look and maybe a like to show your support for the months of effort it has taken to come this far, both my team and I would be highly grateful.
