The good news is that my mom came through the surgery quite well. They did not have to cut into her intestines and were able to open the restricted section of her bile duct and insert a shunt. It was a long couple of days. My dad and I were up Tuesday and my brother came up Wednesday. Mom was in pretty good spirits all things considered by last night. She will be in for about a week so I came home for today and will head back up tomorrow afternoon. Thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers. I just can't put into words how much it means.
It turned out good in another way that I did not even consider, my dad, brother and I got to spend some time bonding while we waited through the day which was very nice.
Other good news I was able to keep my scheduled appointment with eden for the first session of my first tattoo before leaving for Richmond. I think she did a fantastic job and she was so gentle it didn't hurt a bit!
she even threw in a lollipop hell the bank doesn't even do that anymore!
It was such a nice diversion for a few hours from alll the worry.

I've seen my share of "chick" films, favoring the dialogue over the big-explosion-while-principle-characters-yell-"AAAAHHHH!!" I suppose I try to avoid Julia Roberts, if that helps.
I generally avoid Jim Carrey too, but coldengine might be right; this new one has some interesting people working on it.
I generally build up hatreds of movies I don't think I'll like, sometimes to an silly degree. While at my friend Chuck's once, he was picking Waiting to Exhale at the video store, since his wife and this other woman wanted to see it. I pitched a fit worthy of a 7-yr-old (I was 25) and he basically said, "Look, dude, we're at my house and we wanna see this." And he was right, of course. Irony was, I thought it was okay, everyone else thought it sucked.
