So I just got back from holiday in Vancouver and Whistler with a few buddies. All I can say is that Canada fucking rocks. We stayed at the Cambie Gastown on friday night and really got after it at some bars on some street that I can't remember the name of for the life of me right now. All I can remember is that they shut the street down to traffic and there is a great pizza place called Megabite that serves slices for like 2.50 per. It was great. On saturday we drove up to whistler to do some mountain biking at the Whistler Bike Park. I brought my gravity rig but my buds needed to rent. Well we were a day late and a dollar short, no bikes left in the entire village. So we went for a run and a quick hike before hittin the bars. I would never consider myself a club person but saturday night we went to Buffalo Bills and I danced my ass off (with some liquid courage of course). It's been a long time since Ive done that and it was exactly what I needed to sort of get back into things so-to-speak since the break up. I'm pretty sure its been about 5 years or so since Ive had that much fun at a bar. Things are just so much different up there. Everyone is real chill and very friendly. Maybe I'm just not going to the right places in seattle but i got a totally different vibe up there. It was a real confidence booster, which I really needed to be honest. We had planned on riding on sunday but got rained out so we just chilled in the village. Being a bit hungover it was probably a good thing it rained. Last thing I needed was to go home all busted up cuz I decided to ride in the rain, hungover. To sum up this long ass post. Whistler is one of my favorite places right now. It just really cool to be in a place with a whole bunch of like minded people. It is a bike and ski mecca, right up my alley. Im looking forward to spending much more time up there from now on. Changed my life, i swear.
