OOOMMMGGG....I just wrote a long insightful joural entry and the whole thing got erased! I was so bummed but now I'm starting to cool down. I should have learned my lesson last time this happened and saved this thing to a text document first....but I never do. DUH.
Right now I have the perfect buzz going and I'm listening to Led Zeppelin's Over The Hills And Far Away and I am SO loving it. This song is so great!!! It makes me feel so content.
My roommate's bird Scooter is hanging out and singing along to the tunes. Only a few select bands make me feel like this. Before this I was listening to Black Sabbath's The Wizard. FUCK...that song is so RAD.
One of the greatest songs ever!!! Tonight I am trying to be a good girl and be mellow. My roommates is away for the weekend so I am taking advantage of having the apartment to myself while she is gone. Earlier I was at a friend's BBQ where a kick-ass cover band played The Stones, Ramones and several other killer 50's and 60's songs. They played while several kids danced and frolicked around in the field in front of them. I could have sat there and watched those kids for hours. Their happiness and innocence is hypnotizing to me. Kids are rad. I had a great time.
Last night I hung out with the gorgeous Chrischick. We were little bartenders and made ourselves Mojitos which turned out pretty damn good. I love that drink...it is so delicious!! Here are the ingredients if anyone wants to make this yummy drink:
MOJITO
light rum
club soda
sugar
fresh mint leaves
limes
Fill about 1/4 of a highball glass with mint leaves. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and a couple splashes of club soda. Use chopsticks or the end of a wooden spoon to muddle the mint leaves at the bottom of the glass and dissolve the sugar. WARNING: Don't muddle too much or you will tear the leaves and get little bits of mint in your mouth when you drink. (We made this mistake and Chrischick nearly inhaled a mint leaf as she eagerly took the first few drinks of her Mojito. Lol.) Cut a lime in half and either use a juicer or squeeze all the juice out of the lime. After it's all out, cut the lime in half again and put the skins of the lime in the glass as well. Fill the glass about 3/4 with ice. Add 3 ounces of rum, a few ounces of club soda, and WALA...you have your yummy Mojito!
So that night was just the warm up of funner times to come!!! I am hoping I can get Chrischick to be a little more crazy next time.
I will introduce her to my favorite mixed drink...the Long Island Ice Tea.
