So last night was the long-awaited VELVET REVOLVER show at the Wiltern. For those of you who have not been to the Wiltern, it is a rad place to see a band. The place is the perfect size, has been recently remodeled and looks AMAZING. Although I was up in the Mezzanine section, I still had an awesome view. The lighting was awesome, the sound was so-so (a little too bassey), and Scott Weiland once again did not disappoint! They actually should have called this gig the "Scott Weiland Show." Just to give you a visual...He had on red hiphugger flare-leg pants, a black leather vest with no shirt on underneath, a colorful silk scarf, and a black cop hat. He looked like a cross between Bowie and Iggy and was all over the place like a friggin madman!! He spent alot of time up on the speaker wiggling his hips in this seductive sort-way and doing it better than most girls I know can! As I watched him, I couldn't help thinking that he reminded me of Fu in some off-the-wall kinda way. The highlights were their covers of earlier STP songs off the Core album like "Sex Type Thing", their hit song "Slither" of course (that song is probably the best song on their album), and the Guns 'n' Roses covers of "I Use to Love Her" and "Mr.Brownstone. (Those were my two personal favorites) Slash and Duff still looked like a couple of 25 year olds running around with their shirts off (and looking MIGHTY fine I might add. YUM. ) So all in all it was a RAD show and their was only slight disappointment on my part over the fact that the sound was really bassey and it was difficult at times to hear Scott's voice. But it was overall it was a very good show with a cool mix of people and a very involved, exuberated crowd.

So now that I'm done playing concert critic....I'm outta here! Off to start my weekend and take a trip to Lake Havesu with my new roommate. I've never flashed my boobies before, so maybe this weekend I'll have to change that. But just a little peek. hehe. Believe me, going on this trip is a completely irresponsible and impractical thing to do considering that I am really low on cash (after having to already borrow $ from my parents this month. God...I hate having to do that!)....but FUCK IT, I'm going anyway. You only live once right??? Sorry Voice Of Reason, but I'm off to Havesu my friend!!
