I think I'd want to have a highly intelligent wolf for a pet. Like in this the one in this series of books I've been reading. the first one is called Dhampir
It's about Vapires and Elves, and all sorts of action/adventure goodness. In the books there's this dog named Chap, he's actually an acient spirit advisor, who chose to take the form of a dog. So he's super fucking intelligent, and can understand evertyhing everyone is saying, but he's this kick ass dog. So he acts like a dog, likes to be petted and played with. That is just fucking awesome.
But my second choice is definitly a dragon, I just don't think they'd be as cuddly is all.
