okay, am i just completely psycho?...and before there is an answer to that, let me tell you why i'm asking...

yesterday i was sitting at my computer at the print shop, typesetting, when my boss came around and told me in a hushed voice "don't tell anyone, but, starting next week i'm giving you another raise." well, my weird mind got to working and i thought of one of my co-workers, she's been there a year and has currently (by currently i mean the past 2-3 months) been in a bad mood because she hasn't received a raise in so long. well, this makes my 5th raise just this year. so i asked my boss if it would be possible to give the raise to my coworker rather than me so that maybe the atmosphere might be a little better. this, of course, shocked my boss, and she turned down my offer and gave me a few reasons why...but...am i completely nuts for suggesting such a thing? i've told a few people about it and they all act like i've just escaped from a mental ward. was it really that stupid for me to ask that?

Hah, actually work was insane-busy and I had to deal with a lot of nutcases... but surprisingly, I think the sleep deprivation helped! It made me sorta not care, I think. wink

Hmm... actually I think it's very selfless of you to put your coworker first like that! But I'm not surprised your boss said no. They're probably giving you raises because they like the results you get them... so it's not really transferable. I say, take the raise and do something noice for your coworker to at least show that YOU appreciate the work she does! (but, of course, don't tell her about the raise tongue )
