this blows...I find out what prom is the day after tickets go on sale (and sell out)....I was even going to be in SF that weekend. Damn, me with spiffy DSL and plenty of time on my hands to sit and wait for tickets to go on sale...I totally could have had them yesterday....oh well. Maybe next year.

O.K., it started about a year ago. We wanted to start a "street preacher" activist group that was comical, cynical, and to the point. It was on a big shopping day. So we decided we wanted to dress like street preachers and just scream the word "doomed" while everyone walked into the mall. The dress up part never happenned but the word stuck. Now when we see things that we don't know how to respond to (you know those moments when something is so blatantly wrong that you get sick, like a hummer with an american flag on it not stopping at a Stop sign). We scream "DOOMED".
It eventually spread, and I don't know who started it but people have started stenciling the word on the sides of buildings that are not fair with their business practices (like starfucks), and then we just kinda rolled with it.
It's cynical I know,
but many of us are loosing faith, and this is rebelious, and fun, and I think that by it just being those two things, it's helping feel a little peace.

the counter revolution is small. it is made up of intellectual, and poor people, that are working on the fringes of this society simply to create whatever amount of "disorder" is possible without getting caught. Mother culture, or society, or the government, whatever you want to call it, has perfected it's limitations impossed on those who rebel. This fact, I think, directly stalls all counter revolutionary tactics. But that doesn't stop the fact that it's there, it's just small.
I don't know how to make it larger, I wish I could answer that.
