I dont know if anyone reading this has ever been in bands, but when you get in the right situation such a unique feeling. Its really magical, when different individuals ideas line up and combine to create a really special piece of music. Thats what has always intrigued me about playing music. I hope that I can express this in a way that is intelligible, but when four or five people stand together in a room there is nothing there. Then you start playing and all of a sudden youve created sounds, theres is depth and melody and rhythm, and its not coming from a cd, it is a completely present act. As you are playing you exist completely in that moment, the future is silent, there is no track on a cd that has yet to be played. If you stopped there is silence. The music you create only exists in the physical world for the amount of time you sustain a particular note, and then it is gone forever. I dont know why but thats always fascinated me. Well, is 4:07am, I'm drunk and I'm rambling. I'll read this in the morning and see if it made any sense. But yeah, so that happened to me today and it was awesome. I'm confident in myself and my abilities, but damn I hope I can hang with these guys, this project would make me so happy.
