Must rant...
It's official, I hate apocalyptic movies. Wayne and I wanted to watch a movie during dinner and we figured, HBO On Demand has to have something good. Yeah, so since we'd already seen the rest, we figured on The Day After Tomorrow since neither of us have seen it. IT'S TERRIBLE!!!!
We're about an hour and a half into it now and it sucks ass. There is no way that a piece of Antarctica the size they're describing can break off like that in about 30-45 seconds. From watching many shows on The Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel and National Geographic, it baffles me on how a movie like this can be made.
The dialogue is boring and dull, the plot is full of characters that can't be identified with, the people in charge who should be protecting the people of their country are too "busy" to listen to scientists with proven facts about the situation, the characters do stupid shit like trying to run back to a cab to get some stranger's purse with a wall of about 200-300 feet of water rushing at them.
It's bad enough that movies like Deep Impact and Armageddon were made, but hey lets make another one exactly the same and switch asteroids with global warming.
I don't know how he's still able to watch the movie, I can't do it. I think I'm gonna go crazy. I'll work on some homework. Ignore the rant, it was just that, a rant. I do this when I'm frustrated with stupid shit like this.
