Sometimes it takes physical pain to put me in place.

Yes you can be in a club surrounded by 50 or so people. , Yes, these are the people supposedly closest to sharing your interests. This city should be full of them. These people are supposed to be your peers, yet you despise or pity them, or in the rare occurance, know they will dissapoint you in the end.

What you forget though, is that you could be in this club, in this same situation, but with a nail in your foot, or being attacked by a nest of fire ants. Sometimes the pain in our minds is so terrible we forget about physical pain.

So sometimes when I'm disillusioned and depressed, hating everything I bite on my tongue really hard or brush a flame/cigarette cherry on my arm and almost instantly my mood improves.

At work today, given all the free time it affords me, I drew the mad hatter, only he turned out looking like a cliche' mobster. So in a manner befitting my boredom, I drew the rest of the party as gangsters with him.

Apparently Hattas the brains, Haighas the muscle (complete with bad perspective brass knuckles) and Dormouse is a flunkie/delivery boy and they all have Anglo-Saxon attitudes.

So while my thoughts lay on Alice I remembered a live action version of Wonderland and Looking-glass, the cast apparently consisting of Broadway actors or singersI. I had it on tape in the 80's and watched it numerous times as a child. They took some liberties such as actually incorporating the Jabberwocky into the story, having it chase her every now and then, having it pull some shit at the castle when she becomes queen. Something about confronting fear or some shit.

The important part is that the jabberwocky was some crimson cross between a T-rex and seahorse, as only a man in a godzilla rubbersuit can perform the role. So for as long as I can recall this is how I imagined the Jabberwocky.

He may have gotten blacker and more agile/lithe over the years in my mind, but that was the basic blueprint. But eventually that American McGee computer game version of a dark and twisted wonderland came out and their Jabberwock was a lot more like the original drawing which I had not yet seen somehow.

anyway, now all my jabberwocks are apparently half serpent, half praying mantis.

Thats the horrible one I did today. Its embarassing, but you get the idea. Yeah... I drew all those today in about a 4 hour period on pastry bags with a dull pencil... Anyway now I think I'll make a fried egg sandwich and draw a jabberwocky that doesn't suck so much.

Wow that red one looks awesome except for the leg and tail when I started getting lazy...

Goddamn prom is getting close, I'm all nervous as hell.
