Recently I passed my state's mandated Teaching Exam! YAY! Took me five attempts with each attempt being $140 ..... UUUHHHH. I am now thinking about where I would like to apply to teach next year. Math teacher.
Currently I am an online English as a Second Language teacher with the company 51 Talk where I help Chinese people learn English. Basically I talk to kids all day and it's pretty cool because most kids just want to talk about my cat.
I have been thinking of teaching outside the United States because I am interested in learning a new culture while working within in. Working in Europe will be very challenging because a school will have to sponsor a visa for me because I am not European and not a member of the EU. I have been adding different International Schools to my list and going through each country.
I thought Italy was a nice place the couple of times I visited. I liked gelato at every corner and how they sit to eat food. Everyone is in such a hurry in America.
I am excited to begin this hunt for jobs in different countries. I have been working everyday for the last 5 months and would like to take a day off here and there. It's really hard to take a day off when you are in the zone too. My last vacation was 5 months ago, and that was to Ireland. I see the finish line and I want to work at it every day until I obtain it.
I just wanted to post about my current position in life and the goings on. I hope to know more in a month or so. Later SG community.
