Of all the valuable life lessons I have learned, most of them were learned in a deli. I learned that you should never lick a steak knife, no matter how delicious it may be. I learned you should never chug oil and vinegar, no matter how much your boss pays you to do it. I learned to treat people the way I want to be treated. I also found out that, despite that, some people are just plain mean. I learned that life isn't fair, and to get over that fact, but also that life can be unfair in your favor. I learned to both yell and laugh at the world on the same day. I learned to see the world from other's point of view. I learned anger. I learned sadness. I even learned how to use knife properly, but most of all, I learned that happiness doesn't come from a paycheck. Happiness comes from making someone's life a little better, and that the ones we love the most are taken from us way too soon.
