Once, there was a man, who had a very melancholy daughter. Every night, she would cry so loud, that it would break the man's heart. He brought her flowers to make her smile, but her frown remained. Defeated, he walked home alone. The next day, he brought her a dress to brighten her disposition, alas, she remained distraught. With his head down, he again walked home alone. Finally, he brought a violin and played for her a song to lift her spirit, but this made her cry even more. Heartbroken, he started crying too. "What must I do to make you happy again?" He exclaimed. His daughter's ghost rose from her tiny grave and held his wrinkled hand. "I want to be with you, again, Daddy" she sobbed, "but you must see the truth first." She pointed to a stone, not far from hers, with a very familiar name on it. "You tried so hard to make me feel loved" she said, "even after your own heart gave out, you never stopped trying to make me smile." The man understood what had happened, then, and with a smile, took his daughter's hand, and faded into eternity, both grinning.
