What a week!!
Now it is time for me to plan my next vacation. I am heading out to Japan this summer and I need to start getting my mind around how I am going to prepare for the trip. My daughter is going as an exchange student and I will accompany her on the 14th trip. Now, time to get down to business.
I am, by nature, a last minute packer. I know I would be better off with a plan of attack for preparing for the trip. Last time I took oversea trip, I was a member of a military unit. I was lucky then, I had a packing list to follow. I packed a lot of shit for that trip. I mean alot. Just last week I saw a show the featured a guy who travelled around the world with very little in his backpack.
He carried a change of clothing, a book, a camera, and some toiletries. I like that concept, but I am afraid I will miss the creature comforts afforded me by carrying a large suitcase. I would like to get a streamline backpack, like the contestants use on that worldly racing reality show. That way, I will have everything I need on my back and I can travel light.
What to do.
If I wait until the last minute, I will probably pile everything in the suitcase and forget the most important stuff, while carrying a great deal of extra junk

When I pack, that's what always happens. I always over pack and I usually forget underwear or something like that.
