I am back home, back from living in the Super 8 Motel with a crappy radio for tunes... yay for home! It's completely disarrayed, but I'm really looking forward to going through all the crap in this place and getting a bunch of it out the door. Gone! As it turns out, not nearly as much stuff was ruined as we had thought; lots of boxes soaked up water but the contents somehow were barely touched. Very weird, very cool. All I can imagine is that we got home pretty early on in the flooding, and though the room was filling with water, not much had soaked into the objects in the room yet. All the clothes have been cleaned, new carpet is coming next week, on we go.

Thanks to all for the sympathetic notes and comments, last week was hell. Now it's just work. And, in three weeks I have two weeks off! I'm cancelling the Solstice party this year, there's no way this place will be ready to have guests, however, looking forward to this season of light I am very happy and thankful for the peace in my home, health of my kid, and the dryness of my floor. *grin*
