When my brother was 12 he fell off his bike and cut his leg all the way up the shin. He came in covered in grazes, dirt and blood and was paranoid about getting an infection. I told him to clean his leg thoroughly in the shower and then put aftershave on the cuts to sterilize them. He did. I could hearing him screaming from downstairs whilst I laughed my head off.
