How did the act itself go? At my polling place (an apartment clubhouse) there was a huge line at 9:30 in the morning, way out the door and past the sign that said "75 foot limit on no campaigning." It took an hour, but it was worth it, as always.
After nagging a non-voting co-worker for some time, saying things like "If you didn't vote last time, you can't complain" and such, he registered and voted. That felt good.
