On Sunday August 23rd, Billy's friends and family held a memorial to celebrate and remember Billy's life. It was a beautiful day filled with love and stories of a man that left a huge impression on many people. Billy was a rare breed of human. He was kind, honest, and he was true to himself; he never censored what he said to anyone. And that's what made him who he was. No matter how long you haven't talked to him, if you were to call or text him you needed help with anything, he was always there for you. He even offered an elderly man a lift home one hot day because he saw him struggling with his groceries up a steep hill. Billy taught me to love myself and that asking for help doesn't make you weak (he always called me stupid when i got stubborn to ask for help and tell me my family fucked me up. Lol) but he didn't coddle me. He told people what needs to be heard. He always said to me whenever i became overwhelmed with a situation he'd always say " crying isn't going to do anything. Do what needs to be done." I loved that about him. He knew I've always been alone and done things on my own. Because of that, he kept me strong and he let me keep my pride. I loved how easy it was being with him. He wasn't clingy and we didn't have to keep tabs on each other it was only when it was dinner time do we text each other to see whats up. Even though we were only together for only 5 glorious years, being with him, it felt like we been together forever. Billy was my only second relationship and i will cherish everything he has done for me. Any man that comes after him, has a tall order to fill. Thank you, love you and miss you forever. See you again Billy.
