we had people over last night drinking and of course everyone was feeling pretty shitty this morning. even i wasn't feeling so great and i only had two drinks before going to bed. the plumber came over this morning to fix the leak under my sink, so i had to be up early. so everyone's been sick and my poor kitty decided to jump on the wagon. i gave her some kitty milk earlier and she just threw it all up. she made this weird meow right before she threw up, like she suddenly realized she was going to be sick. she has a bit of a delicate stomach and has loads of hairballs. poor baby. she seems fine now, fortunately.

i start my new job at barnes and noble tomorrow. i'm a little nervous because it sounds like the dress code is a lot more conservative than i thought it would be. i'm afraid they're going to be super-anal and i'll hate it. but i really want to work at a bookstore. i'm hoping it won't be too bad and that things will calm down after a little while. i'm all nervous. i hate starting new jobs. but interviewing is worse.

i've been spending so much time at the pool lately. i love swimming. i wish our pool was open earlier though. it doesn't open until 10 and i rarely sleep that late. i'd love to be able to get up really early and swim. i used to be on this hard-core swimteam when i was younger and we would practice at 6am or something. i love swimming early in the morning. everything is really quiet and peaceful and the water becomes this vast, empty space for your thoughts. it's beautiful.
