It's nine-thirty pm on december 23rd 2003. Things I have done today:
1. Braved the mall and realized how fabulous it is living in a small town when you still get superb parking two days before x-mas.
2. I have eaten an uncalled for amount of cookies in the last 24-hours that I'm embarassed to even think about.
3. Went to work and talked to human resources about transfering to St. Vincents. Things look on the up and up with that.
4. Received the nicest present from this woman, Julia, who believes that I'm too cute to be stuck in Montana and insists I move back to Portland where she'll hook me up with her friends for housing and whatnot.
5. Burned two cd's for my mom for x-mas, wrapped all of my presents and learned brief history of real pagan holiday.
I remember when I was young and Christmas Eve was the best day of the year. Now, it's just another day with no real significant meaning except I have to wrap all of my mom's presents for my dad and get drunk on expensive wine with my parents. Oh, and maybe sit through "midnight" mass with Father Christopherson.
Christmas Eve also means that in one week, it will be New Year's Eve. I hate New Year's Eve, always have. I don't ever do anything on this day, and can barely stay up until midnight to really ring it in. I'm pathetic, I know. This year will be no exception. I was supposed to work New Year's Day, but decided against it.
I'm listening to the White Stripes right now. They sure are swell. I also think I'm in love with George Harrison. Too bad he's dead, no?
Tell me something dreadfully exciting right now. I can't bare the mediocreness of the night. I long for excitement.
PS. Silva's set is super hot. I can't say enough about it. Yummy, yummy, yummy.
