It's just like the water. I haven't felt this way in years.

I just finished one of the most riviting books ever: Keep the Aspidistra Flying by George Orwell. It is oddly compasionate, even though I spent the entire book, save the last thirty pages, loathing the main character. Then like that--when he has his revelation--I had mine. I realized he is fucking right! And I automatically fell in love with him. Ah, superb.

That book gave the largest urge to read Mrs. Dalloway for the fifteenth time. My copy is so marked up now that I can't even read it in peace without reliving the pain of writing my thesis. But this time, Mrs. Dalloway is taking on this entire different being: it's not about art anymore, but class, about humanity and what people want. I'm seeing it as a companion to Orwell's work, and it's really weird. And that's why I love Virginia Woolf.

I also love Jack White.

It's almost Thanksgiving. When I was a kid, my favorite thing about the holiday was seeing the first Christmas commercial during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It's ruined now that they start showing advertisments well before Halloween. Bastards.

It's five o'clock in the morning. This, my friends, is what my life is coming too: working before the fucking sun comes up.

Goddamn!

PS. I'll probably be going to bed at seven tonight. Just call me Grandma Del.
