The Cracked Mary

Fog is rolling in across the hills and into the valley,
finally settling on the creek.
Under the weeping willow, I sit and pray to the
unknown god who plays in the branches above me.
Cracked and worn are my hands, but I manage to
weave the orchids and irises into a halo to adorn
my hair.
Katydids worship my feet: an...

Homer. The Illiad. The translations of it vary but that's the one that stuck in my mind the most. With your entry of gods, worship and sacrifice it seemed to suit somewhat smile

I found her sleeping next to me in her gray pajamas, the ones she wore only when I was there. Her back was towards me, unmoving. Her blonde hair, tangled on her pillow and sheets. I stared at her, wishing she would hold me.

"I bet you sleep completely clothed." She mocked me be pulling up her socks to her knees. "I bet you even...

yeah I was obsessing over the need for money, but now at least I seem to be living close to our means. I maen unemployment. I get $330 per week But that is the lowest inthe country. if i lived in minnesota i' get $500+ per week.

And if my clain started three months later cal now sends out $430 i think per week. next year it goes to about $500 per week i think as they try to slowly raise it.

but you see i still sort of obsess with it.

smile smile

the animation IS cool! a friend set it up because i just don't have the program or smarts to do it myself yet?

and I fell from him
from his hands
on my back, on my hips, on my stomach.

Stay. I will.
leaving moments later
wishing to be there.

smell of red wine and cake
in his shirt.
cigarettes on his hands.

caressing my legs
trying to keep it a secret
she noticed. I left.

does anyone know hindu?
stickyrice:
Do you mean "hindi," the language, or the Hindu religion, or maybe someone named hindi? I know a little about Hinduism from having read some of the Vedas (the Upanishads).

Thanks for stopping by my journal again. Really there's nothing to envy. I mean, I feel lucky that I'm able to do as much as I'm able to do, that I have hands and I am not mentally crippled in some way, but it's hard work, too. I think a lot of people could do the same if they gave up other things, as I have. And I'm not even, like, John Steinbeck or anything. smile

I don't think Thompson would shoot you, but he might be somewhat erratic in his behavior. Or maybe not. It's possible he has mellowed.

What causes you to jump back and forth between the Cocos Keeling Islands and Chicago?

[edited for coherence. It may not have worked]

Ramp: The Evolution of Men

New Men's magazine designed for those who want just a little more than Maxium.

Picked it up this past week while I was at the Salt Lake City airport. Kind of ironic, I realize.

The only thing I could find that was brilliant about the magazine was the interview with Hunter S. Thompson. It could have been a bit longer,...

Best fucking vacation/trip/adventure ever!

1. I managed to score THE best apartment ever in the Licoln Park area of Chicago. It's right above a bar and across the street from a movie theatre. I also beat the other girls interested in it by ten minutes. Rock!

2. Met very interesting people from all over the US and they all bought me drinks. I love people....

I don't have much to say other than I'm tired. Hey, I will have many of inspirational stories once I'm back from Chi-town. Until then...

Ugh. Well, Wyoming is coming to us. The ol' man's older brother is driving the fastback (named Cherise, after a song about blonde british girls with ghetto names) to us here in the valley, with some of the ol'man's stuff. That was the biggest reason for going mid-west. Dame! Now I don't get to see all my mid-west pals besides, you are off to the (semi) far east.

What was Joel doing over there? Or were you over here?

So...

I just had the three best and most confusing hours that I have had in a long time. I thought I didn't have feelings for him anymore, but I do, boy do I ever. It was so marvellous have him just stand next to me; everything just felt "right." And I cryed when I had to leave because I love him so much.

Now...

Tell me that my life will work out; that everything will be okay. It's that time. Panic. Horrifying panic. I can't think without thinking about death.

So I don't have anything profound to say. I'm tired, very tired. I'm pretty satisified with my life at the moment, although nothing has really changed. I go back to Chicago next Friday to really start planning my new life. I'm excited, but afraid. I still haven't found a job, but I have classes, and two roommates, and a boy who likes to flirt with...

To My Master, from Your Coy Mistress

Had we but world enough, and time,
to think of this pathetic rhyme.
Many years and drafts to write,
yet I am here plump and ripe
waiting for that day to come
when roses are replaced with hums.
That echoing song, you always say,
has to wait for another day.
Sure, we all die with time,
but dying...
