I've taken a rat to school, it was pretty chaotic. Mice are better for sneaking around in pockets, rats are more of shoulder perchers and therefore more easily spotted. And for some reason people don't like rats and freak out.
Oh, and that hairless guy, I got him from a snake shop. They weren't exactly bred for intelligence, but I kinda thought of it as rescue since they were living in tupperware and destined to be in a snake's belly. If you're desperate, getting a dude from petco/petsmart might work too, as you're rescuing him from a small child's grubby hands and torture.
I'll give you the cage and extra supplies I have for free... well, in exchange for a drawing for my comic art collection. Deal? I have deduced that you are sometimes near my place of work, so let me know when you need that stuff and I'll clean it up for you to stop by and pick up. No picking up or pestering of SuicideGirls though plz
