My weekend:

I finally started training. I was getting fat by the minute, and I just couldn't take it anymore. 3 weeks off the bike, and I gained like a pound a week. Of course, it's still like 10 degrees out, so I put the bike on the indoor trainer and got to it.

Friday night the missus and I made vegan mac and cheese (with tofu dogs) from a recipe someone posted on the Veggie list. It was damn good. Adding the tofu dogs took me right back to the trailer park I never lived in.

Sunday morning we met semitic for coffee at Diesel, and then headed over to Veggie Planet in Harvard Sq. for vegan brunch. Waffles! With maple flavored soy sour cream!

Even frickin' Amherst has vegan breakfast options now, at Nick's. When is Noho going to get it's shit together and get on board? Why doesn't Bela serve bruch?

Sunday night I gave a lecture for a local cycling club at their annual banquet. Basically, I got to stand up in front of a room full of people and talk about myself for an hour. No one walked out, so I was apparently interesting enough.

Then we rented Children of Dune. I only put up with the acting in these new Dune remakes because I love the story and characters so much. It's like they spent all their budget on Susan Sarandon, and didn't have anything left for any other capable actors.

Back to work.

wigglefree:
yup, shinny happy people get beat up real easy,

but what really stuck with me about that one, was the different ways we perceive our world. Any NONE of them actually are the real world. They are all different aspects of our selves that we project around us. Its very much like matthew scully talks about in 'dominion' in which most of our ideas about animals have to do with our own devices and desiers, always failing to view the animal in it's own context.
