Why is it that there is always at least one person who want's to get into an ethical debate over a matter of opinion?

I make one little post regarding my opinion in relation to the question of mandatory drug testing for welfare recipients and next thing I know I'm being informed by someone of a differing opinion, of how narrow minded and basically how wrong I am.

I'm not saying that they're dumb for having a different opinion than I do, I'm not even saying they're dumb, I'm just saying that when I state an opinion, that all it is... my opinion. You are free to have a different opinion than I have, in fact, please tell me all about it and why you feel that way. I only ask that you not do so in the form of an attack on my opinion.

I respect that you think differently than I do, please return the favor.
