from the moment i saw you, it reminded me of when i was 5.
not knowing true pain, and only feeling alive,
like the insulation in the attic, looking so soft and bright,
i felt i needed to touch you, the caution stickers in red, were meant to invoke my fright,
but just like when i was that child, the warnings stopped nothing, and now i sit with this in my skin,
once touched the heat only further more embeds you, and the further i let you in,
so i scratch and rub , until the irritation brings tears to my eyes,
sitting in a tub of hot water, left with only the sounds of my cries,
then it really hits me , i learned it then and i know now,
i have to switch this heat to cold, and sadly i know just how,
i'll lay in the freezing water , until i get you out completely out of my skin,
just like then i learned if i would have heeded all the warnings , i never would have let you in.....
